A single-story model home center for an early 1950s neighborhood has undergone a Cinderella type transformation. Perched on a bluff at the headwaters of Molasses Creek in Mt. Pleasant, SC, the original 1,500 square foot structure is ringed with mature live oak trees. The renovation program called for a complete updating of the original residence, an additional garage with carport and separate dwelling unit. The resulting ensemble of new and existing elements now captures the unique nature of the property, preserves the heritage of the original landmark structure and elevates this special place into contemporary living space
