Distant Island, South Carolina
The dwelling is an unfitted plan of white board and batten buildings arranged in an open plan design. The design program was for a clean, contemporary
interpretation of classic coastal architecture. The combination of the ideal south-facing waterfront property and the owners' spare lifestyle lead
to a collection of building elements, each taking advantage of views, breezes, and privacy. The small pallet of brick and painted wood inside and out,
along with integral garden elements around the buildings, help to connect the inside, outside, and landscape.
